Building healthy emotional habits
Mirror me Cards are fun activity cards for parents and children to connect.
They are ideal for connecting playing and coaching
My daughter Emma took her life in 2015. She was 21.
Emma couldn’t share her emotions at a very stressful time in her life. I feel that this is a habit I should have taught her from early on. I grieved a lot and in my grief I noticed many parents are facing similar tragedies. What could I do to help? Help parents and help kids.
I wanted to give parents a tool to play with their kids where positive feelings and emotions can be trained.
Please join me in training a generation of children who are positive to their feelings and can share.
I’ve designed the Mirror Me cards with play in mind, because games offer safe, make-believe spaces in which kids and adults can play together. The Mirror Me cards enable kids to process the emotions they’re dealing with and the situations they’re facing. The cards aren’t a substitute for therapy, but they offer a safe, non-judgmental space.
I made the cards with my own illustrations, first on paper cards then on my iPad to get them properly printed. I drew in a fun way for kids as a psychology major I knew how good the cards would be for kids.
Mirror Me gives children the ability to look at their feelings and the happenings in their lives from so many different perspectives. They can be a spider… a tree… an angel… a king… an alien… a monster! I’ve watched kids playing with the cards and I love seeing them laugh, and I love seeing their creativity shine through.
